RAID Technology - Fail Safe Disk Storage
RAID, or Redundant Array of Independant Disks, is an advanced hard disk storage system designed to provide maximum disk Input/Output performance while significantly improving the data availability and reliability.
This is accomplished by creating a mirror of all data on more than one harddisk automatically, without any delay. All data is written to multiple harddisks simultanously so that thsi system continues to function if any hard disk fails. As soon as a harddisk fails, notification alerts are sent out and the failed hard replaced.
